Workshop on mitochondrial research from November 12

Manipal: An Indo-U.S. workshop on “Mitochondrial research and medicine” will be held here from November 12 to 14. It is being jointly organised by Manipal Life Sciences Centre (MLSC), a constituent of Manipal University, the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and the Indian Society for Mitochondria Research and Medicine (INMIT).

In a press release issued here on Thursday, director of MLSC K. Sathyamoorthy said that his organisation had been identified as “Technology information, forecasting and assessment council centre of relevance and excellence” (TIFAC-CORE) under Vision 2020 in the area of Pharmacogenomics. The MLSC was engaged in cutting-edge research, training and education and offered its expertise to the community in the field of human health.
