Cuddalore advances

CHENNAI: Cuddalore and host Tiruvallur moved into the quarterfinals with impressive wins on Friday in the under-19 State junior football championship for the T.P. Ramaswamy Trophy at Avadi.

Cuddalore worked up a 10-0 win over Pudukottai and Tiruvallur trounced Theni 9-0.

The results: Cuddalore 10 (Edwin 8, Kripakaran, Nirmal Durai Kannu, Premkumar, Priyan) bt Pudukottai 0; Tiruvallur 8 (Shankar 4, Binny Karthik 2, Karthikeyan 2, Yogaraj) bt Theni 0; Dindigul 3 (Nagarajan 2, Suresh Kumar) bt Sivaganga 2 (Raja, Hariram).
