Cuddalore trounces Karur

CHENNAI: Cuddalore swamped Karur 13-1 on Thursday, in the under-19 junior state football championship for the T.P. Ramaswamy Trophy being organised by the Tiruvallur DFA in Avadi.

The results: Cuddalore 13 (Nirmal 3, Edwin Paul 2, D. Ganesh 2, Kripakaran, Prasad 2, Charles, Premkumar, Sashikumar) bt Karur 1 (Vaideeswaran); Pudukottai 2 (Raja Pandian 2) bt Ramanathapuram 0; Tirunelveli 5 (Shahjahan, Moses, Pazhni Pitchai, Alto, Praveenraj ) bt Villupuram 0.

Wednesday’s results: Sivaganga 5 (Hariram 3, S. Rajan, S. Karthick) drew with Salem 5 (R. Alaguvel, A. Kulandai Yesu 2, M. Prabhu, Ranjith Kumar) — Sivaganga declared winner by draw of lots after light failure.
