Balachandar, Mariappan win bronze

CHENNAI: S. Balachandar and D. Mariappan won the men’s doubles bronze medal for reaching the semifinals in the ninth Malaysian wheelchair tennis Open in Kuala Lumpur.

The effort brought them a prize money of Rs. 10,000. Both Balachandar and Mariappan had made the trip with their own money. The SDAT Member-Secretary, M.R. Mohan, met the two players and congratulated them. The two players have made an appeal to the Government for financial assistance.
