Hat-trick by Tanmay Agarwal

HYDERABAD: Tanmay Agarwal’s haul of eight wickets for 19 runs including a hat-trick, helped All Saints to record a 243-run win over Model Mission HS in the HCA under-14 inter-school cricket tournament on Thursday.

In another match Ranjit Kumar (145), Shadab Tumbi (148) and V.L. Sashank (five for 34) guided St. Peter’s HS to a 297-run win over Oxford Grammar school.

The scores: HCA under-14: All Saints HS 356 for five (Siddhant Agarwal 113) bt Model Mission HS 113 (Bhargav 47, Tanmay Agarwal eight for 19).

St. Peter’s HS 359 for six (Ranjit Kumar 145, Shadab Tumbi 148, Bharat three for 45) bt Oxford GS 62 (V.L. Sashank five for 34).

BVBP School 407 for three (Y. Harish 156, P. Pat Pratyush Reddy 118, Parikshit 42) bt International school 159 (Abdullah 68, Mustafa 30).

Glendale Trophy:

Gowtham Model School 164 for five (Manish 42, Vishnu 40) lost to HPS Ramanthapur 167 for six (V. Naresh 64).

Nasr Boys School 151 for four (Azhar 51 not out) bt Glendale Academy 115 (Ashraf 39, Azhar three for 17).

Jubilee Hills PS 160 for six (Praneet 69, Anirudh 57, Afzal six for 22) lost to All Saint’s HS 161 for five (Agarwal 134 not out, Praneet three for 23).

HPS Begumpet 184 for six (Sharath 57 not out, Azhar four for 23) bt Nasr Boys 79 for nine.

Two in lead

St. Ann’s Grammar School and St. Andrew’s (B) are leading in the girls and boys’ categories in the Rev. Fr. Devasia chess tournament at the St. Andrew’s High School, Bowenpally, here on Thursday.

The results (Round 3):

Girls: St. Ann’s Grammar School drew with St. Ann’s High School 2-2; St. Ann’s High School (B) lost to St. Andrew’s High School 1-3; Hindu Public School drew with St. Ann’s High School 2-2.

Boys: St. Andrew’s (A) defeated Hindu Public School 2.5-1.5; St. Andrew’s (B) defeated Delhi Public School 3-1; St. Patrick’s defeated Auxiulium School 3-1.

Hyderabad half marathon

The annual Radha Realty Hyderabad Half Marathon (21 kms) and the 10K run will be conducted by the Hyderabad 10K Foundation on November 30.

More than 25,000 people are expected to take part in the run this year said Dr. Mrs. Geeta Reddy, Minister for Industries, at a press conference in Hyderabad on Thursday.

The course of the half marathon will start from Peoples Plaza, go up to Charminar and back. Participants have to register online for the half marathon.

According to the organisers support services such as first aid, water counters and kilometre milestones will be provided along the way.

On the occasion sportspersons from Hyderabad who had bagged medals in the Commonwealth Youth Games in Pune recently were also felicitated and given a cash award of Rs. 1 lakh each.

They included Saina Nehwal, Guru Sai Dutt and Sikki Reddy (badminton) and Asher Gusti Noria and Kynan Chenai (shooters). — Principal Correspondent
