The contest will be held on eight topics including poverty eradication PUDUCHERRY: The National Service Scheme (NSS) is conducting a poster designing competition for students on November 7. The contest would be held at all schools and colleges in the Union Territory. According to a press release, the Central Government was conducting poster designing contest across the country for NSS volunteers. As many as 33 lakh NSS students would take part in it. The contest would be held on eight topics such as eradication of poverty, primary education, women development, infant mortality, maternal child health, AIDS, environment conservation and global development. Three best posters would be selected from each of the topics and State level prizes would be given. The prize-winning entries would be sent for the national level selections. The Union Youth Welfare Minister would give away the prizes to the national-level winners on November 14 at Delhi. Schools and colleges conducting the contest should send the posters to the Office of the State Liaison Officer of NSS before 5 p.m. on November 7, added the release.
