Decision on alliance by month-end: Karat
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Prakash Karat on Wednesday said a decision on the alliance in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu would be made around the time the Polit Bureau met towards the end of this month.
“As far as Andhra Pradesh is concerned we have finalised our stand,” Mr. Karat said, refusing to make public the details. The stand would be made in coordination with the Communist Party of India.
“Both the CPI and the CPI(M) will have a common approach and were having consultations,” he said.
On Tamil Nadu, Mr. Karat said a final view would be taken before the Polit Bureau meeting here on November 29 and 30.
