Human chain for communal harmony

NEW DELHI: A large number of students, teachers, activists, intellectuals, civil society members and residents of neighbouring localities formed a human chain for secularism and communal harmony at Jamia Millia Islamia here on Wednesday.

The march, organised by the Outreach Programme at Jamia, began from the Faculty of Engineering and went up to Mathura Road, after which it had to return to the campus as the police denied them permission to go any further.

Students and teachers of Delhi University and Jawaharlal Nehru University also joined the march.
