PALAKKAD: Forest Department officials raided two houses, arrested six persons and seized 75 kg of sandalwood and bags of sandalwood dust from Pathiripala, near here, on Wednesday. Those arrested are Uduman (41), Sulaiman (39), Siddiq (35) and Shamsudeen (30), sons of Hussain of Kuttikadu Parambil House, Kizhakkumapuram, Mannur. From another house nearby, the police arrested Moideen (45), son of Kunchi Rawthar of Punnamkadu Parambil and Vasudevan (59), son of Govindan. The raids conducted and arrests made were by the Forest Flying Squad DFO A.R. Sashikumar, Palakkad DFO Justin Mohan and officials of the Ottapalam Range. — Staff Reporter
