Oil exploration

Karwar: R.V. Northern Explorers, a ship belonging to Seabird Exploration Company, has begun exploring for oil in the sea near the Karwar coast. The exploration is being carried out on behalf of ONGC. The exercise began on November 1 and will continue for six weeks, a press release from Project Seabird naval base, Karwar said. Fishermen in the area have been warned to be careful. — Staff Correspondent
