NEW DELHI: Over 150 children from some of the top schools in Delhi and the National Capital Region will be taking part in this year’s Delhi Half Marathon this coming Sunday, pledging their support to Bharti Foundation, the philanthropic arm of business conglomerate Bharti Enterprises. Students from five schools -- Ramjas School (R. K. Puram), Delhi Public School (Safdarjung), Ryan International (Mayur Vihar), CRPF Public School (Rohini) and Apollo International (Sonepat) – will participate in “the world’s richest and most prestigious half marathon”. This year the event is being held under the banner of “Airtel Delhi Half Marathon 2008” as the leading mobile company Bharti Airtel is its lead sponsor. Bharti Airtel also has a “dream team” participating in the event that comprises Bharti Group Chairman Sunil Mittal along with his family members -- Rajan Mittal, Rajit Mittal, Zubin Mittal and Arman Mittal. Bharti Learning Systems CEO Sanjeev Duggal, Bharti Teletech CEO Sunil Goyal, and Bharti-Del Monte India CEO Sanjay Nandrajog have also confirmed their participation. Over 50 other staffers of Bharti Group will also be the part of the event. Some of the leading corporate partners of the Bharti Group that have pledged their support to the Bharti Foundation in the event include IBM, Aegis BPO, Madison Communication, Alcatel Lucent, ECI Telecom, HTMT, UT Starcom and MphasiS.
