Lok Satta faults clean chit to Minister

HYDERABAD: The Lok Satta Party has taken exception to Finance Minister K. Rosaiah giving a clean chit to Panchayat Raj Minister J. C. Diwakar Reddy in connection with ‘corruption’ charges levelled against him by a Cabinet colleague G. Surya Rao.

Party spokesman P. Ravi Maruth in a statement here on Tuesday wondered why Mr. Surya Rao was being continued in the Cabinet if the charges against his colleague were baseless.

He said placing a lid on the controversy was nothing but a ‘travesty of the Constitution’. The case was fit for an inquiry by the Lok Ayukta.
