Action sought against those backing LTTE

Special Correspondent

“LTTE supporters threatening those expressing views against the organisation”

CHENNAI: S.R. Balasubramoniyan, former leader of the Congress Legislature Party, has urged the State government to take stringent action against those supporting the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam.

In a statement here on Tuesday, Mr. Balasubramoniyan said while Central and State governments were taking steps to protect the Tamils in the island nation, LTTE supporters here were trying to sabotage it.

They were openly threatening those who were expressing views against the LTTE.

Already, 30 nations had banned the LTTE. But, it was being portrayed as freedom movement by some parties here.

Action should be taken against them as per law.
