Staff Reporter

Accidentally presses trigger while checking the weapon

HYDERABAD: A gunman, Srinivas, sustained injury on the fingers of his left hand when the 9 mm pistol of a Congress leader Chandrashekhar Reddy went off at MLA Quarters in Adarshnagar on Tuesday.

Reddy had a firearm license and came to meet Congress MLC Laxmidevamma at the MLA quarters around 5 p.m. carrying his pistol.

As part of checking the visitors, Srinivas asked the Congress leader to keep aside the weapon. He took the pistol into his hand and was checking it when it accidentally got fired as his fingers pressed the trigger. Srinivas suffered bleeding injury on the fingers and was treated as outpatient at a private hospital.
