BANGALORE: Demanding measures for smooth flow of traffic along the Frazer Town underbridge, residents of Bharatinagar and neighbouring areas staged a protest on Tuesday.

The residents said the one-way movement of traffic across the Fraser Town underbridge was hindering the traffic movement. This has resulted in frequent traffic jams on Mosque Road causing chaos. Stranded motorists took a long time in reaching places such as Lingarajapuram, Banaswadi and Seva Nagar. The residents asked the police to allow two-way movement of vehicles.

The police said they were aware of the problem. “But we cannot allow two-way movement as it will further hinder the traffic movement. We hope for early completion of the railway bridge construction, which would ease the traffic movement. There construction work has come to a standstill,” said a senior police officer.
