Saraswati Vidyardhi VISAKHAPATNAM: Noted vocalist and Associate Professor of Music in Andhra University has been accorded A-Top Grade by All India Radio. This is a rare honour as only two others from the city –Nedunuri Krishnamurthi and Arundhati Sarcar who is now in Hyderabad, got this distinction. Dr. Saraswathi Vidyardhi who is a daughter of Kulapati of Sangeeta Janakulam, IVL Sastry who taught her the basics. She later learnt advanced music from Prof V.B. Gadre of Meeraj who was a disciple of Pandit Kumar Gandharv. She had given music concerts all over the country and won several prizes from her childhood till now. She also authored two books. She will be felicitated by Sangeeta Janakulam at a public function on November 10 at Sri Vasantha Vaneswara Prasanna Ganapathi temple beside the Port stadium near the National Highway-5. A concert of her is also arranged for the occasion and she would sing to the accompaniment of Pantula Rama on violin and Dhanwada Dharmarao on mridangam.
