CDs of Naidu bashing by NTR, Harikrishna unveiled

Congress releases CDs on the eve of ‘Yuva Garjana’

The one-hour-long CD carries speeches of NTR

HYDERABAD: The Congress on Tuesday came out with CDs of the speeches of Rajya Sabha member N. Harikrishna and Telugu Desam Party founder N. T. Rama Rao that were highly critical of the party president N. Chandrababu Naidu.

As the TDP geared up to hold a massive public meeting as part of the ‘Yuva Garjana’ in Guntur, Congress Legislature Party members Vatti Vasant Kumar, Kanukula Janardhan Reddy, Gidugu Rudraraju and Ganga Bhavani released the CDs at a press conference.

NTR’s speeches

The one-hour-long CD carries speeches of NTR, who after being “deposed” by Mr. Naidu in 1995 gave interviews to the media faulting the latter’s conduct. The speeches of Mr. Harikrishna, which accused Mr. Naidu of “hijacking” the TDP, were made when he floated the Anna TDP and toured the State.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Vasant Kumar demanded that Mr. Naidu and Mr. Harikrishna owed an explanation to the people for their role in making NTR leave the Chief Minister’s post. They wondered why this part was not included in the documentary brought out by the TDP on the eve of ‘Yuva Garjana’.

Meanwhile, APCC spokesperson N. Tulasi Reddy at a separate press conference termed the ‘Yuva Garjana’ as ‘Cry of the aged’. Taking a dig at the meeting, he said it was ridiculous that 49-year-old actor Balakrishna was making his appearance at a youth meeting while his nephew NTR Junior stayed away.
