Driving schools to be set up

BANGALORE: The Transport Department has decided to set up four driving schools in different parts of the State for training and recruitment of drivers for the public sector.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Minister for Transport R. Ashok said driving schools would come up at Nelamangala, Hubli, Gulbarga and Hassan. A 50-acre plot had been acquired for a school at Hassan. About 18,000 vacancies of drivers, conductors and mechanics in the road transport corporations are to be filled, and officials have been instructed to complete the process soon.
