CHANDIGARH: The Haryana police have arrested one person, identified as Monu alias Sushil, in Jalandhar for allegedly abducting a minor girl with a promise of marrying her and also “raping” her, an official spokesman said here on Tuesday. He added that the girl had also been recovered and the accused remanded to judicial custody for 14 days. The victim had in her statement alleged that she was misled by a promise of marriage and was also raped by the accused. The medical examination of the victim has confirmed rape, the spokesman disclosed.
