Back in action: Actor Daniel Craig in the new James Bond movie “Quantum of Solace". Young film critics Ira Dubey and Neha Sareen will review the much talked about James Bond film “Quantum of Solace” for the brand new show on PIX movie channel this coming Friday. “Chick on Flicks” will give an inside view of the latest Bond movie that has been described as high-octane adventure revolving round the debonair espionage agent. While Ira made her debut in Rohan Sippy’s film “The President is Coming” and also acted in three theatrical productions, Neha did her Economics major from Ohio Wesleyan University and was the editor of a quarterly magazine dedicated to the Kargil cause. Both possess a distinctive sense and knowledge of Hollywood films. Sharing her experience of watching the Bond film and meeting the cast and crew, Neha says she got an insightful perspective of the film through the special screening. “It was an interesting experience to have a face-to-face meeting with the film’s director Marc Forster. As for Olga Kurylenko, the Bond girl, she is extremely feisty, exotically beautiful and has a strong role to play. She shares a unique relationship with Bond. In fact, she is more like his mirror image, his conscience. The story is wonderfully layered and symbolic but at times the fast cuts and quick pace did not allow me to absorb the moment,” says Neha, recommending a second watch to do justice to the details of the movie. Stating that it was an enthralling experience to see the entire creative process behind the James Bond film, Ira says: “My favourite Bond is Sean Connery and Daniel Craig is an actor who, after a long time, has brought a spark back to Bond. He is raw, tough, vulnerable, sexy and mysterious. The film is visually stunning and ties up the loose ends spurred by the betrayal of Vesper, the one woman Bond loved in ‘Casino Royale’.” The critic says the film is a character-driven story. “The film has some fabulous action sequences and a new take on Bond as a real hero in a modern world. ‘Quantum of Solace’ definitely scores on its visual appeal and performances, yet at times the editing and screenplay were disappointing,” says Ira, who has majored in theatre at Yale University and has been actively involved in performance arts since the age of six.
