19-year-old injured in road accident

NEW DELHI: The teenaged granddaughter of former Prime Minister V.P. Singh was injured in an accident near Golf Links here.

Aditi Singh (19) has been admitted to Apollo Hospital on Mathura Road and her condition is said to be stable.

Aditi was on way to her Greater Kailash house around 9:30 p.m. when a car coming from the wrong direction collided with her car. Some passers by informed the police and she was taken to hospital.

Harveer Chadha, who was driving the other car, was was arrested under Section 279 (rash driving) and 337 (causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.

“The accused was taking a short-cut as there was no U-turn for over 100 metres on the road and collided with Aditi’s car. His father has a liquor business in Delhi and UP,” a senior police officer said.
