VIJAYAWADA: Omission of the name and photographs of TDP president N. Chandrababu Naidu in hoardings and cut-outs put up by the fans associations of NTR’s actor-son Nandamuri Balakrishna became a matter of debate in the party circles ahead of the ‘Yuva Garjana’ (youths’ roar) on November 5. Absence of Mr. Naidu’s photographs in some hoardings and vinyl boards was noticed all along the route from Gannavaram airport to the venue of Yuva Garjana near Acharya Nagarjuna University, 20 km from Vijayawada. Though the leadership brushed it aside as just a usual practice followed by fans’ associations, there was speculation that it was done intentionally so as to send a signal that Mr. Balakrishna would assume greater responsibilities in the TDP. The local leadership was mum on the issue of fans’ hoardings. A portion of a hoarding containing the image of Mr. Chandrababu Naidu was torn out near Gannavaram airport. Meanwhile, the TDP organised motorcycle rallies and padayatras all across the city and various parts of the district to mobilise support from the people.
