dated November 3, 1958: Food production

The Agricultural Administration Committee has said in the its report released in New Delhi that the food situation in the country is bleak and drastic measures must be taken to retrieve the situation. There is gross lack of co-ordination between the irrigation and the agricultural departments. The Committee has suggested that the two departments should be under a single Minister in all States.
