Six companies of CRPF withdrawn from West Bengal

KOLKATA: In the wake of the Assam blasts, the Centre has withdrawn six companies of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) from West Bengal, Home Secretary Ashok Mohan Chakraborty said.

Talking to journalists at the Secretariat here, he said that of the 10 companies of CRPF in West Bengal six were withdrawn.

They were posted in the districts of Purulia, Bankura, Paschim Medinipur and North Bengal.

He said that the State government was worried about this development. Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee has been apprised this development and Chief Secretary A. K. Deb will talk to the Centre about this”, he said.
