Our voice cannot be suppressed: Vaiko
CHENNAI: MDMK general secretary Vaiko on Saturday alleged that he and the party’s presidium chairman M. Kannappan were arrested because they exposed the betrayal by the Union government on the Sri Lankan Tamil issue and the all-party meeting conducted by the State government that killed the fervour in support of Sri Lankan Tamils.
In a statement here, Mr. Vaiko said the police were denying permission to organise protests and public meeting though the Supreme Court had given a ruling that there was no bar on speaking in support of a banned organisation. “Our voice cannot be suppressed. We will raise it fervently,” he said. — Special Correspondent
