Stolen copper wire recovered, 10 held
VILLUPURAM: Of the four tonnes of copper wire stolen from a private company at Morattandi near here on Deepavali night, the police have recovered two tonnes and arrested 10 persons on Saturday. According to Superintendent of Police A. Amalraj, a 15-member gang barged into the premises of Sri Ramakrishna Transformer Company on October 26 night, tied up watchman Velayutham and his wife, threatened them of dire consequences before taking away four tonnes of the wire in a lorry. On a complaint from the proprietor the police formed special teams. On Saturday, the police on ECR spotted a group of 10 persons moving under suspicious circumstances. — Special Correspondent
