Sadhvi Pragya, Upadhyay undergo polygraph test

Meena Menon

MUMBAI: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur and two other accused in the September 29 Malegaon blast underwent polygraph tests at the Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory here on Saturday.

The Sadhvi, along with the former-army major Ramesh Upadhyay and Sameer Kulkarni of Abhinav Bharat have been undergoing forensic tests since Friday.

According to Ajay Misar, counsel for the Anti Terrorism Squad (ATS), the Nashik court had permitted brain mapping, narco analysis and polygraph tests. Once the reports are ready, these will be submitted in court.

Mr. Misar did not confirm any new arrest. So far, five persons have been arrested in connection with the bomb blast, which killed six people.

Apart from a serving army officer, the ATS is reportedly questioning the commandant of the Bhonsala Military School in Nashik, Col (retd) S. S. Raikar, for the second time, and another employee of the school. The ATS suspects that meetings to plan the blast might have been held in the school.
