Jewellery, cash stolen

RASIPURAM: Few unidentified persons decamped with 70 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs. 20,000 from a house in Vennanthur near here on Friday night.

The police said Shanmugam (70) of Minnakkal village and his family members were sleeping when the incident took place.

The persons gained entry into the house by opening the roof tiles and stole the jewels and cash on Friday night.

Vennanthur police have registered a case. Further investigations are being done in the case.
