Assam-Bengal Ranji tie postponed
Kolkata: In view of the tense situation in Guwahati after the serial blasts on Thursday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday decided to postpone the Ranji Trophy Plate League opener between host Assam and Bengal scheduled to be held there from November 3 to 6.
The BCCI, however, is yet to announce a revised date for the Ranji opener between the two Plate Division sides.
The Board on Friday wrote to the Assam Cricket Association (ACA) asking for the update on the prevailing situation and decided to defer the match.
“The match has been postponed. We will decide about a fresh date after assessing the situation. We have written to ACA and are waiting for a response,” the BCCI CAO, Ratnakar Shetty, said. — PTI
