‘Satha Chandi yagam’ draws huge crowd

BANSWADA (NIZAMABAD Dt.): The three-day ‘Satha Chandi yagam’ performed by legislator Bajireddy Govardhan on the Government Junior College grounds at Banswada evoked an overwhelming response. Hundreds of people from the town and also from surrounding places, cutting across party and religious lines, attended the yagam.

Everyday, around 140 couples took part in the yagam and performed the ritual as per the directions of the Vedic pandits. The MLA inaugurated the ritual wishing happiness and prosperity for all. All the roads in the town led to the venue of the Chandi yagam.

Vishesha puja, Chandi homam, Surya namaskaram, Mahalingarachana, Chandi Chatasaptiparayanam and Lalitha Sahasranama kumkum archana marked the Satha Chandi yagam. These were performed from dawn to dusk.

VIPs attend

MLA Bajireddy Govardhan and family, former Minister Nerella Anjaneyulu and family , Dichpally MLA A. Lalitha and Jukkal MLA S. Gangaram, MLC B. Mohan Reddy, Joint Collector Neetu Prasad, Bodhan RDO Swarnalatha and several others attended the pujas.

‘Maha annadanam’ was organised for several hundreds of people on the three days.

On the concluding day on Friday Sahasravadhani and Veda pandit Madugula Nagaphani Sarma spoke on Hindu scriptures.

Veda pandits Bhaskar Sarma, Santhose Sarma and Chandrasekhar Sarma chanted mantras.

Management guru

An international religious personality Satyaveer’s lecture on personality development and religion drew a fairly large audience.

He stated that any work done with self-confidence would be fruitful and only those who lacked in self-confidence committed suicides.
