Chiru’s stand on Telangana baffles TRS

Staff Reporter

PR to favour Centre’s decision on Telangana statehood

‘Vidroha Dinotsavam’ to be observed on Nov. 1

SANGAREDDY: The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) in Medak district is in total confusion on how to respond on the statement made by Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi over the formation of a separate State.

On his second day tour of Karimnagar district on Friday, at Jagityal, Chiranjeevi made it clear that the issue should be decided by the Union government and the PR would welcome the proposal if it was made by the Centre. While TRS legislator from Siddipet T. Harish Rao welcomed the announcement made by Chiranjeevi, party district president Raghunandana Rao said that this was the time for Congress to clear its stand on the issue

MLC unhappy

However, former MLC R. Satyanarayana expressed a different view.

“The statement made by PR president Chiranjeevi that they will not object if the Centre proposes the Bill lacks clarity. Why did he not make the statement

that they will pass a resolution in the Assembly after coming to power,” he questioned.

Meanwhile, the TRS will observe ‘Vidroha Dinotsavam’ on November 1.

Mr. Satyanarayana urged the people to observe protest against the injustice meted out to Telangana in the last five decades.
