Coimbatore: After successfully staging the IMG Mill and Monsoon Rally for cars a couple of weeks ago, the Textile City is all geared up to host the IMG Rally of Coimbatore 2008 for two wheelers at the Kethanur Windmill Farms, near here, on November 7 and 8. Organised by the Coimbatore Auto Sports Club and jointly sponsored by India Mines Group (Bangalore) and Sri Annapoorna Gowrishankar Hotels, the third leg of the FMSCI Indian National Rally Championship will run on the same special stages as that of the recently concluded car rally. Super Sales India Ltd., Premier Spinning and Weaving Mills and L.G. Balakrishnan & Bros. have come forward to support the event in a big way by permitting the use of land for the stages. Thirty-five riders from across the country are expected to participate in the rally, which is restricted to four-stroke for motorcycles up to 260cc. A separate event for local riders with two-stroke bikes will be held alongside the main round. — Sports Reporter
