Government asked to make records available

HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Justice N. Ramamohana Rao and Justice C.V. Nagarjuna Reddy on Friday directed the government to make available for inspection the records pertaining to allotment of land for house sites to the societies floated by IAS , IPS officers, legislators, Members of Parliament and journalists.
Action challenged
It may be recalled that Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed challenging the action of the government in allotting land in the prime areas of Nanakramguda and other areas of Hyderabad city to these societies.
The Bench had granted stay of all further proceedings, including development of land.
The petitioners filed a miscellaneous petition seeking a direction for inspection of records.
The Bench directed the authorities to make available the records, including file notings during the working hours to the counsel for inspection.
