Saina, Guru Sai in quarterfinals

Pune: Top seed Saina Nehwal of India and her compatriot Guru Sai Dutt continued their good show in the World junior badminton championship, with both the players entering the quarterfinals of the girls’ and boys’ singles event with contrasting victories here on Thursday.

A confident Saina proved too much for Shih Han Hung, taking just 24 minutes to beat the Chinese Taipei girl 21-13, 21-11 in her fourth round encounter.

In the boys’ category, Guru Sai, however, had to stretch himself to the limit to beat Malaysia’s Kam Chung Kuan 19-21, 21-19, 21-12 in 48 minutes. — PTI
