Militants gun down 10 people

Guwahati: Suspected militants belonging to the Black Widow outfit — the Jewel Garlosa faction of the Dima Halom Daugah (DHD) — gunned down eight police personnel and two civilians in Assam’s North Cachar Hills district on Thursday.

Police said the incident occurred at 5 p.m. at Thaijuary where the militants ambushed a vehicle carrying the police team escorting a vehicle, which was carrying a body.

The DHD is currently under a ceasefire agreement with the Centre.
