‘Housing scheme a burden’

KOCHI: The EMS housing scheme, proposed to be implemented from the current year, would impose considerable financial liability on local self government bodies, according to Bharateeya Janapaksham.

A statement issued by the organisation’s general secretary P.B. Sathyan said that under the scheme, local bodies would have to take loans and the interest would be paid by the government. In case of default, the burden would ultimately fall on the local bodies.
