Normality returns to Baramulla
Srinagar: Normal life resumed in Baramulla township of north Kashmir on Thursday after it had remained affected for six days against alleged highhandedness of security forces.
Shops and business establishments opened in the morning in Baramulla district, 55 km from here, which witnessed violent clashes between mobs and the security forces over the past week, resulting in the killing of a youth and injuries to many others.
Vehicles started plying on the roads and work in government offices resumed. Schools and banks functioned.
A student was killed when CRPF personnel opened fire to chase away a stone-pelting mob protesting the alleged excesses by security forces, at Cement bridge in the town on Srinagar-Muzaffarabad road on Sunday. — PTI
