Khade to skip senior Nationals
BANGALORE: Virdhawal Khade will not participate in the 62nd senior National aquatic championship which gets underway at Hyderabad from November 5.
Confirming Khade’s absence, his coach Nihar Ameen told The Hindu: “We had originally planned to be there at Hyderabad to participate in a few events but we decided to give Khade a much-need break.
“He had been under intensive training-cum-competition right through the year and he has achieved almost all the targets that were set during the season, peaking with the Commonwealth Youth Games at Pune.”Khade incidentally had skipped last year’s Nationals at Panaji as he was nursing an injury.
The Kolhapur born swimmer has returned home for Diwali and will later resume his academic session.
