LVB second quarter net rises

CHENNAI: Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) has reported a net profit of Rs. 6.92 crore in the quarter ended September 30, 2008, against Rs. 5.37 crore in the corresponding period in the previous year. Total income was Rs. 172.41 crore against Rs. 133.50 crore. In the six month ended September 30, 2008, the bank reported a profit of Rs. 11.21 crore against Rs. 20.46 crore, due to depreciation on investments and higher capital expenditure on information technology. — Corporate Reporter
