New building for KSSP

Staff Reporter

KOLLAM: The district committee of the Kerala Sasthra Sahithya Parishad (KSSP) is moving into its own building at Madan Nada in the city.

The new Parishad Bhavan will be inaugurated on November 1 by scientist and senior member of the Parishad M.P. Parameswaran.

He will plant a Neem sapling and declare open the new building.

In the evening, a seminar on ‘the role of scientific organisations in Kerala’s development’ will be held.

Education Minister M.A. Baby will inaugurate the seminar.

State Planning Board member C.P. Narayanan will be the moderator. State president of the Library Council G. Balamohan Thampi will present the subject.

KSSP district secretary Madanthakode Radhakrishnan said that the building standing on a 5.75-cent plot was purchased for Rs.13.10 lakh. The amount came as contributions from KSSP members and a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the book ‘Maanathekkoru Kilivathil.’
