Krishna triumphs

VIJAYAWADA: Krishna defeated Guntur 5-4 in the final of the boys’ water polo event in the 54th AP State School Games swimming competitions that concluded at the Sir Vizzi swimming pool here on Wednesday. Visakhapatnam finished third.

Women’s meet

Mylavaram’s Lakireddy Hamireddy Sports Complex will host the AP State women’s sports festival group 20 in which 700 sportspersons from 23 districts will take part in kho kho, kabaddi and volleyball events from November 3 to 6, according to District Sports Development Officer B. Sudhakar here on Wednesday.

Gymnastics event will be held V.P.S. Siddhartha Pubic School.

Krishna District’s Ushma and L. Kumari will represent Andhra Pradesh in the National u-17 School Games football tournament to be held at Goa from November 1 to 5.

Centuries by M. Santosh Singh (129) for All Saint’s High School and A.N. Sai Charan (140) for Little Flower Junior College in different matches were the highlights of the Boost Cup (under-16) cricket tournament in Hyderabad on Wednesday.
