Work inspector convicted in ACB case
HYDERABAD: The Special Judge for ACB Cases, Visakhapatnam, has convicted T. Vijaya Babu, grade II works inspector, office of the Executive Engineer, AP Housing Board, Visakhapatnam, and sentenced him to one year’s rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs.1,000. In default in payment of fine, he is to undergo two months simple imprisonment for the offence under Section 13(2) read with 13(1) (d) of the Prevention of Corruption Act. A press release issued here said Babu was trapped on November 25, 2002, by ACB officials when he demanded/accepted Rs.1,000 as bribe for doing official favour of delivering the completion of registration of the complainant’s MIG house situated at Pothina Mallayyapalem, Visakhapatnam.
