Portrait of ‘kidnapper’ released
Staff Reporter
HYDERABAD: The Cyberabad police on Wednesday released the portrait of Shekhar, 25, a painter who allegedly kidnapped a three-and-half-a-year-old girl Nandini three days ago from Madhapur.
Shekhar was working in an apartment under construction in Arunodaya colony for the past few months. He developed friendship with Nandini’s father Anjaneyulu, who used to work as watchman of another building nearby.
Shekhar used to visit Anjaneyulu’s house. On Sunday night, he approached Anjaneyulu saying he was going for a movie and wanted to take the latter’s daughter along with him. Assuring to bring back the girl safely, he took the kid along with him but did not return home.
After waiting for him throughout the night, the girl’s parents approached Madhapur police the next day. The police registered a kidnap case.
As no photo of the accused was available, police got his portrait made based on the description given by the girl’s family members.
