Bangalore: The third day of Deepavali celebrations ended up causing cracker-related injuries to 40 more persons.

Most of the victims were children aged between six and 10. They were treated at various eye hospitals in the city on Wednesday.

Danish Ali (7), Jayamma (35) and Pratibha (8), who have been admitted at the Minto Ophthalmic Hospital, and Gangamma (10), who is being treated for burns on her face and neck in the Burns Ward of Victoria Hospital, were the unfortunate onlookers. All these were watching people lighting crackers on the road near their house when a spark from a cracker hit the eye.

On Wednesday, 13 cases each were reported at Narayana Nethralaya and Minto Hospital. Three persons were admitted to Minto Eye Hospital with cracker-related injuries.
