Funds sought
Bijapur: Residents of Chapparband galli, led by zilla panchayat president Afsarabegum Chapparband, submitted a memorandum to Minister for Wakf Mumtaz Ali Khan in Bangalore recently demanding sanction of Rs. 2 lakh for construction of a Chand Tara mosque.
In a press release, Afsarabegum Chapparband has said that more than 2000 residents of the locality were forced to travel several miles to offer prayers at the mosque.
If a mosque was constructed in the locality, it would help them take up all religious activities in a systematic manner, she added. —Staff Correspondent
