Temple trust fined for dumping waste

Bangalore: A temple trust in Jalahalli has been levied Rs. 3 lakh as fine by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for dumping waste in a neighbouring vacant land. BBMP Commissioner S. Subramanya issued the direction while inspecting various parts of the city to check clearance of garbage and to monitor progress of various development works on Tuesday. The Commissioner directed Health Officer (East) to impose a penalty of Rs 2.5 lakh on the garbage contractor.
