CBI raids Ashok Todi’s residence

KOLKATA: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday night raided the residence of Ashok Todi, the father-in-law of computer graphics teacher Rizwanur Rehman, who was found dead last year a month after his marriage.

The Special Branch of the CBI conducted a raid in search of Ashok Todi, his brother Pradip Todi and brother-in-law Anil Sarogi against whom non-bailable arrest warrants were issued by the court on Monday.

However, none of the three was found in the residence, CBI sources said.

According to the sources, an alert had been issued to all airports and major railway stations to prevent the Todis and their brother-in-law from leaving the country.

A city court on Monday observed that the non-appearance of Todi and two others despite summons was nothing but an attempt to drag the proceedings.

Rizwanur married Priyanka under the Special Marriages Act on August 18, 2007.

His body was found on the railway tracks between Bidhannagar Road and Dum Dum Junction on September 21 last year. — ANI
