Contractor held on graft charge

CHENNAI: A contractor who allegedly gave a bribe of Rs. 6.65 lakh to a senior railway official was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Saturday.

According to CBI sources, Southern Railway Deputy Chief Engineer (Construction) K.S.S.V.P. Murthy Raju, who was arrested on a train with unaccounted money and remanded to judicial custody, was taken for interrogation. Based on his information, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials arrested the contractor.
