Informative Insights: Students of BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary School displaying a model advocating environmental upkeep in Tiruchi.

TIRUCHI: Presentations made by students of BHEL Matriculation School at Nexus 2008, the school’s science exhibition, recently, was well attuned to the motto: purpose of education is to make man think.

The several ideas that the exhibitions projected included the ways of tackling global warming, methods of tapping clean energy, and approach to power conservation – the factors that would be of immense concern to mankind for generations.

511 student participants

Nearly 511 students participated in the exhibition which had models pertaining to Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, Commerce and Economics Departments, according to the Principal Juliet Newman.

V. Ramamoorthy, Chief Medical Officer, BHEL Main Hospital, inaugurated the exhibition.

Appreciating the students’ performance, Senior Consultant of the Hospital Shoba distributed prizes.

The first three prize-winners of the exhibition received Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 100 respectively.
