Meet on autism from Saturday

CHENNAI: A two-day seminar on autism will be held in the city from November 1.

The event, being organised by Swabhimaan Trust, will have sessions on the importance of vocational education, structured sports, music as therapy and the role of Indian system of medicine in neurological development.

E.S. Krishnamoorthy, director of T.S. Srinivasan Chair Institute of Neurological Sciences, Voluntary Health Services, will speak on drug management in autism. There will be sessions with specialists in yoga and vocational education. Psychiatrist Jayanthini, ENT surgeon Karthikeyan and orthodontist Kannappan will address the gathering. Panel discussion on Sunday will include representatives from organisations in the city working with children with autism.
